Yeah, on some dual-monitor, single-video card systems (NVidia's with dual VGA out), the Living Pond runs okay, with one monitor black and the other showing the screensaver. At least it did with an earlier version - we don't test regularly with a dual head setup. However, dual video card, dual display systems seem to always result in a failure to initialize Direct3D properly - it has to do with the craziness of locating the correct display, correct monitor, correct video mode that works fine with one card, one monitor but not always with multimonitor setups. Not sure exactly why, it's been on my list for some time, but we don't really have any appropriate hardware here to test it on and locate the issue.
You might want to try going to Settings->Display Settings in the Living Pond Configuration window and checking out the multimonitor properties. You may be able to tell the saver to just use one of your video devices and perhaps that will at least get it working. Let me know if these settings seem to have any effect on the behavior.
