I have just come to reinstall the pond after quite an interval following resinstallation of whole operating system onto new hard drives.
I am disappointed ot find that the new system generated ID means that I have to use my last registration. This is not a problem but what happens when I next have to do a full reformat and reinstall. Am I going to have to pay for the pond again?
I am regularly upgrading my system and will fairly regularly reformat and reinstall to solve system problems rather than mess around trying to fix them.
Have the creators of the pond a solution to this issue? |

Your purchase comes with 3 Registration Codes, so you can register up to 3 times without having to purchase the program again.
We decided this was a nice balance between providing adequate copy protection and trying to accomodate users changing and reformatting their systems.
I hope this helps! |

Sorry Camberley but it doesn't. If your sales pitch stated it that explicitly then you might have a defence.
Marine Aquarium can do it without this sort of restriction why can't Irreverie?
Could I have my money back? You can have your program back in return.
I feel I have been duped. If I pay for a program I expect to be able to reinstall it. My God, even Microsoft allows that! |

....in fact, I've just checked through your website again. Nowhere that I can see, please tell me if I am wrong, can I see any reference to three strikes and you're out as far as registration codes are concerned.
How sneaky. Is this normal business practice in the U.S.?
I think that here in the UK I consumer law would protect against this sort of deception. |

Hi Kevvyb,
It's true that Marine Aquarium has a less strict copy protection system, but I have it first hand that the program is heavily pirated, and they invest a lot of time into trying to remove all the publically posted keycodes from the internet (about as futile as it sounds), or releasing updates of the program that don't work with the latest crop of publically posted keycodes, etc.
We have a more restrictive sytem, and so never have to deal with this.
Most people are able to manage with the 3 keycode limit. If you have a special situation where you have to keep reformatting your computer, please just submit a help request, and I'd be happy to give you some extra ones.
Best,
Camberley

Camberly,
Thanks for that offer which I will take you up on when I need it. Currently, as I have stated, I am using the second and third registration codes.
I really do think that this restriction should be made much more explicit to prospective purchasers on the website though.
