Awesome saver.
A few thoughts.
1. The turning motion looks a bit off, they turn more than expected. (possibly change the center of rotation?)
2. Do they have more than one activity level? (Sleepy, hungry, etc.)
3. The rippling is pretty much constant in the short time I looked at it. Would prefer if ripples died out faster, and there was the occasional gust of wind that would re-ripple the pond. |

Hi Salamanders,
Thanks for the suggestions... if you look in the Tech Support forum below, we've been working for the last week or so on the turning animations and have a new version being readied for release. The pivot point has been tweaked, the amount of rotation cut back somewhat, and the acceleration post-turn increased a bit, and we think the result is more natural and feels better. Should be ready "any day now", pending fixing a few annoying bugs that have been brought out by the changes.
As for activity levels, try pressing space bar and disturbing the water a couple of times, and you'll notice the fish get excited for a bit. Certain fish are generally higher in their activity level than others, but there aren't currently any behavioral modes like sleepy or hungry...
The rippling, I can appreciate... we've tried for a balance that was visually interesting without being too distracting. Adding a "wave level" or "wind level" configuration slider into a future release is a definite possibility, and a great idea. Thanks!

I just thought I'd second this idea about wind rippling.
Would it be possible to make a sudden gust of wind make smaller ripples rush rapidly as an "area" across the surface of the pond as the gust "hits" it? Of course these would temporarily obscure what's beneath the surface. I know this might be too taxing on the vid card, but perhaps as an user-selectable option then?
